Concorde Flight Simulator — Brooklands Museum, Weybridge

Brooklands Museum delivers the absolute peak historical destination on the global flight simulation map. Tucked inside a specialized heritage building next to the historic aviation hangars in Weybridge, Surrey, this facility houses an item of extreme aeronautical importance: the original British Airways Concorde Flight Simulator. Commissioned in 1975 at a cost of over £3 million (exceeding £20 million in modern calculations), this device was one of only two ever built and was used for 28 years to train and re-certify every pilot who ever flew supersonic for British Airways. Saved from decommissioning in 2003, it underwent a meticulous four-year restoration project led by museum volunteers and the University of Surrey. Today, it functions as the only operational Concorde simulator on Earth explicitly open for public bookings.

The Authentic 1:1 Supersonic Flight Deck

Because this is a real-world, ex-commercial training device, the cockpit entirely bypasses consumer-level gaming controls or replica parts. Captains step inside a 100% authentic, true-to-scale Concorde flight deck shell packed with thousands of original analogue instruments, functional dials, complex warning matrices, and detailed system panels. The mechanical throttle quadrant quadrant features the historic four distinct white afterburner switches used to push the machine past Mach 1.

While the historic heavy hydraulic motion system has been permanently disabled for museum preservation, the cockpit has been heavily upgraded with a state-of-the-art, high-definition 300-degree curved visual projection system. Under the direct 1-on-1 coaching of real, type-rated ex-BA Concorde Captains and First Officers, you take full physical control over the supersonic icon.

Supersonic Flight Profiles and Signature Event Passes

Due to its historic nature, the simulator is tucked away behind closed doors and is accessible exclusively via pre-booked public Signature Event packages:

Plan Your Visit

The Concorde Simulator operates on select days throughout the year based on the dynamic schedule loops of the volunteer ex-BA flight crew. Walk-ins are completely impossible; sessions must be secured months in advance through Brooklands Museum’s digital Signature booking interface.

Located on the historic Brooklands motor racing circuit in Weybridge (Surrey), the venue is heavily accessible via local UK rail links (Weybridge station is nearby) and major arterial motorways. Every simulator package includes complimentary full-day general admission to the entire Brooklands Museum complex, allowing you to walk the original 1907 banked racetrack and step aboard the museum’s physical, full-scale Concorde aircraft park display. Large secure parking lanes are fully accessible at the main complex entry gate.
