European Flight Simulator holds a distinction that no other Belgian simulator venue can claim: it was the first flight simulation company in Belgium to open its doors to the general public. Founded in 2013 by two airline pilots who wanted to share their passion for aviation with everyone, EFS operates a Boeing 737NG simulator at Chaussée de Bruxelles 4 in Genappe — conveniently located on the N5 route between Brussels and Charleroi Brussels South Airport, easily accessible from anywhere in Belgium as well as from Luxembourg and northern France.

Over more than a decade of operation, EFS has welcomed thousands of participants ranging from curious first-timers with no aviation background to professional pilots using the simulator for recurrent training. The founding philosophy — that flying a real airliner simulator should be accessible to everyone from age 10, regardless of experience — remains at the heart of everything the centre does.

The Boeing 737NG Simulator

The EFS simulator is a highly realistic Boeing 737NG fixed-base device, operated by a team of enthusiastic professional pilots who adapt every session entirely to the participant’s level. The cockpit replicates the real Boeing 737 flight deck with authentic instruments, controls, and systems — all functional and laid out exactly as in the actual aircraft. Sessions cover takeoff, navigation, approach, and landing at any airport in the world, with weather conditions, time of day, and flight scenarios all configurable by the instructor.

One distinctive feature at EFS is the option for experienced participants to fly solo — without an instructor in the cockpit — for those who want the full independent captain experience. This is available to participants who demonstrate sufficient familiarity with the aircraft during the pre-flight briefing. Guests are welcome to join the pilot in the cockpit at no additional charge, making the experience a genuinely shared adventure.

Fly For Fun Packages

Four clearly structured leisure packages are available, each including a 30-minute pre-flight briefing followed by simulator time:

Rookie (€119, total 1 hour) — a first taste of aviation. Learn the basics of flight control and experience your first takeoff and landing. The ideal introduction for complete beginners and the most popular gift choice.

Découverte (€179, total 1h30) — fly a short route between two airports and perform a stunning approach on a dream runway. A natural step up from the Rookie, with time to explore more of the aircraft’s systems.

Aventure (€229, total 2 hours) — take off, navigate to your destination, and uncover the secrets of a real cockpit. Time for real airline procedures and a more demanding approach and landing challenge.

International (€269, total 2h30) — from the boarding gate to the final landing, the full pilot experience just like in the real world. A complete gate-to-gate sector with full airline crew procedures from cold and dark to engine shutdown.

All packages are valid for one year from the date of purchase and include a flight number voucher that the recipient uses to book their own slot at their convenience.

For Professional Pilots

Fear of Flying Programme

The EFS anti-stress fear of flying programme is a structured course designed to help anxious passengers understand and overcome their relationship with commercial flight. Using the Boeing 737 simulator in a controlled, supportive environment, participants work through every phase of the flight experience — the sounds, sensations, and phases that trigger anxiety from the cabin — from the pilot’s seat.
